We’re really sorry that you’re feeling this way.

TalkLife is an online peer support community, not an emergency or crisis service. While our platform is here to help people feel less alone and connect with others who understand, we’re not able to provide the kind of immediate support needed during a crisis.

If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts and don’t feel in control, peer support may not be the right option for you right now. If you have seriously harmed yourself, feel unable to stay safe, or have immediate plans to harm yourself, please call your local emergency services right away or go straight to your nearest emergency department. If calling feels difficult, ask someone you trust to call emergency services or take you to the hospital for you.

Trying to manage these feelings on your own can be frightening, confusing, and incredibly lonely. Please know that you do not have to struggle by yourself. There are trained professionals and crisis services available to support you right now, and reaching out to them can be an important first step.

Why can’t I talk about suicide on TalkLife?

TalkLife is a wellbeing support platform built around safe peer support. Because of this, we do not allow discussions about suicide or graphic self harmon the platform. This helps protect the safety and wellbeing of the wider community and ensures people in crisis are guided toward the right kind of immediate support. If you’re feeling this way, we strongly encourage you to reach out to a crisis helpline or professional support service instead.
