You can tag another user in your post by mentioning their username while creating your post.

To do this:

  1. From the main landing page, tap the + button to create a new post
  2. Once you're in the draft mode of the post, type @ followed by their username within the body of your text
  3. When their profile appears in the search suggestions, tap on it to select them

This will add their tag to your post and notify them that they’ve been mentioned on TalkLife.

Tagging can be helpful if you’d like to include someone in a conversation, give someone a shoutout or reply directly to them, or make sure they see your post. You may also use the Appreciation Posts feature to give someone a shout out:

When creating a post, the draft mode allows you to switch to an Appreciation Post by tapping on the icon that looks like an award ribbon (fourth icon from top-right in post draft mode), you select the type of post and tag the person you want to highlight.

Can I control who can tag me?

Yes. If you prefer to manage who can tag you in Appreciation Posts, go to Settings → Moderation Tools → Tagging. From there, you can choose to allow tagging from anyone, only from people you mutually follow, or from no one at all.
