How can I control my in-app notifications?
You have full control over your in-app notifications through the Preferences section in your settings from within the app. This allows you to decide exactly what you want to be notified about and who you want to hear from, helping you tailor your experience to suit your preferences.
You can pause or unpause all notifications at any time, or manage them individually for more precise control.
What notifications can I manage?
Within in-app notifications, you can toggle a wide range of activity alerts on or off. These include notifications for post reactions such as hearts or gifts, tagged mentions in posts, comments on your posts, and activity on posts you’ve engaged with. You can also manage notifications for comment interactions, including hearts, SuperHearts and tagged mentions within comments and replies.
Messaging notifications are fully customizable as well. You can control alerts for private messages and group chats, ensuring you only receive notifications when you want to stay engaged. Similarly, you can manage notifications for new followers and choose whether to be notified by everyone or only when someone you follow follows you back.
You’ll also find controls for platform-related updates, including notifications from TalkLife admins, which may include moderation updates or important announcements. If you follow specific users closely via a subscription bell on their profile, you can enable or disable such bell notifications via the the settings.
For in-app games, you can also manage game-related notifications, including invites and updates and these can be turned on or off.
Can I control who sends me notifications?
Yes. Many notification types allow you to fine-tune who triggers them. For example, you can choose to receive notifications from everyone on the platform or limit them to only people you follow. This gives you greater control over how and when you’re notified. Head over to Settings → Preferences → In-app notifications to go through the entire list of controls.
